MartinMoney.com exists to help anyone optimize their journey to financial independence.
Regardless of where you are in your wealth-building journey, we’re here to help by providing you with the education, skills, and tools to make the most of your next available dollar.
WHO ARE WE?
We are Curt & Lisa Martin and we started our own financial journey when we got married in 2006.
We entered the workforce with no experience and not a ton of confidence about how to buy homes and cars, much less saving and investing. Feeling a newfound burden for making “responsible” decisions, Curt set out to consume as much information as he could about personal finance and found that he actually likes it.
Over the years we’ve learned tons about managing and investing personal finances to maximize their potential. We also have a natural love for teaching that’s given us the itch to share what we’ve learned with others. The result is the Next Dollar Roadmap.
More than anything, our desire is for you to see that financial independence isn’t just some nebulous wish like winning the lottery or finding a pot of gold. It’s not even something that’s reserved for a select few who inherit wealth or are born with the cognitive power to become doctors or rocket scientists.
Put simply, we believe financial independence is available to anyone willing to put some time and effort into building and working a plan.

Curt has had an extensive interest in personal finance since he had to stop living off of his parent’s benevolence and read Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover after graduating from college.
A graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Business Administration, Curt now works as a supply chain manager for an electric utility. He enjoys running and finished his 6th marathon in 2021. Curt also enjoys cycling, backpacking, and smoking copious amounts of meat on his pellet smoker.
Lisa Martin (PE, MBA, Certified Latte Aficianado)
Lisa grew up with an excellent fundamental education in personal finance, keeping a ledger of her allowance as early as she was able to add and subtract. Lisa has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama and is a project director with a recycling company. She loves fancy coffee and has the machinery to prove it. Lisa also adores reading with her children, hiking, and decorating.

Together, Curt & Lisa are the proud parents of two kids and a Vizsla named Major. They are active in their community and church where they’ve led young married couples in small group Bible study since 2009. Their favorite things to do as a family are hiking, traveling, swimming, and playing Qwirkle.
